Services

The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 sets out a process where communities can have a say in public service provision in their locality. This can be through the Participation Request where the Community body can request improvement to a public service or can themselves help to improve the service. Improvement in some cases could even involve community bodies taking over delivery of services themselves.

We can advise organisations on the process including

  • Guidance on how to become a participant or indeed a service provider
  • helping you form community participation bodies or restructuring your organisation appropriately
  • assistance in making participation requests and participating in the outcome improvement processes
  • assistance in building a business case and sustainable business plan for taking over service provision

We can also assist public bodies on

  • dealing with and reporting on requests
  • how to respond to the legislation and build capacity and support for community bodies

Contact us for a no obligation chat and we can talk you through your options, whatever your needs.
